I just wrote an essay what am I doing. I blame Corvus for making me think my own thoughts.
( Spear and Authority! *jazzhands* )
DOES THIS EVEN MAKE SENSE I DON'T KNOW IF IT MAKES SENSE. I feel like I have probably significantly messed up somewhere along the way. Questions, comments, etc.?

Oct. 24th, 2010 01:28 amOkay, so, we doin' this. This gets kind of long and sort of rambly, there was a lot of ground to cover.
( Ready, Steady, Go! )
And finally, because I've no doubt left something out or should probably expand on something else, question meme! I'll get started on answers tomorrow. ...or uh. Later today. \o/;;

Loook Intoooo My Eyyyyyes
Oct. 10th, 2010 10:12 amSo Spear totally just got accidentally Geassed by Royal! :D
The command was not to look at Royal's face. What this means is that any time you see Spear and Royal talking, Spear's gaze will be fixed just past Royal's ear; it's about a fifty-fifty chance which side, since lol ninja, he's pretty ambidextrous. In any case, the effects of the command are going to be pretty damn obvious, since he absolutely can't make any eye contact with Royal whatsoever, and his entire head will turn to accommodate that rather than strain his eyes. Feel free to mention this if or when you notice!
EDIT!: The command was not to look at Royal's face. If Spear should be trying to, then it will be fairly obvious to anyone looking as his entire head will turn to accommodate his eyes not being to move past the side of Royal's face, rather than strain his eyes. HOWEVER, in general Spear will be mostly avoiding trying to look at Royal, and indeed even avoiding Royal entirely (at least for now). In public, Spear will be carefully making sure that he never tries to look at Royal head-on, so as to avoid it being too obvious. For example, if he's doing something else while talking to Royal he'll keep his gaze focused on what he's doing rather than look up, or he'll position himself at Royal's side rather than in front of him while talking to him. I will do my best to remember to play this out, but if I don't specifically comment on it, just assume it's happening.
(For my reference: if Royal's eyes are obscured, Spear'll be able to look at the non-eye parts of Royal's face, like the chin, forehead, etc. He doesn't remember the glowy eyes nor receiving the actual command, just the horrible laughter and then Royal suddenly jerking away from him. However, he now has anecdotal evidence that the command happened. The glowy eyes can remain a surprise.)
( Too many additional words on the subject under the cut! )

Ssssssso after writing my reply to Claude's call for nightmare descriptions, I decided what I really need to do with my time was right a (much) longer version of it. Also serves as a kind of primer on what Spear's current headspace is like, I guess, and is thus a good way for me to errr figure out where to go from here after being hiatused for so long. THAT'S MY STORY AND I'M STICKING TO IT!
( ...In any case, let me start out by first describing a major source of imagery in Spear's nightmares -- Tsukuyomi. )

In Sickness or in Health
Sep. 28th, 2010 06:02 pmWhile I ultimately wasn't able to play out much of Spear being sick with the Sabraplague, aside from the thread where he started coming down with it, it was ICly a pretty major event for him.
At the moment I'm assuming that people were taking care of him while he was sick, and didn't...you know, put him in a room and ignore him until he got better. In the absence of specifics, I can only speak about how his general attitude towards Lynx/vus has changed. Mostly he woke up with the knowledge that people he didn't even know very well (he'd only been living with this pack of strangers for just over a week, after all) were taking care of him. Not that he expected to be thrown under a bus, just, he wasn't really prepared for it, or for the reaction to him waking up. Mostly it all came together to create a sense of indebtedness and gratitude towards Lyvus as a whole in him, more out of a sense of personal obligation to everyone rather than duty to the concept of the team.
After this, he's going to be more determined to pick up the slack and contribute to Lynx/vus's success both inside and outside of games. Things like helping with the hunting, gathering, and chores, as well as attending as many games as possible. In the near future I will probably asking someone to spar sometime so Spear can get a feel for the fighting skills he remembers and I can get a feel for how to do a fight thread. At the current moment in the dehiatusing post, he's pretty expressive and happy at being up and about again, in part as a response to everyone else being happy that he's up and about. Spear'll settle back into his regular stone-faced self soon enough -- though I imagine Lyvus will always have the best chance of getting a smile out of him.
In any case, the above is what I'm going with in the absence of detailed information on how Lyvus reacted to Spear being sick; detail would be nice, but I think I have enough to go on for now, so. There we go. ( In any case, let me finish this post with a few thoughts about how Spear reacted to Spear being sick. )

In which I talk through stuff.
Aug. 8th, 2010 11:16 amThings I am doing here: poking at the blank personality I had originally planned, figuring what remains, what hasn't, and basically touching base with how I'm going to play Itachi Spear from here. Plus some other notes.
